Describe the Q3BM: what was the assignment? 


For the benchmark, we were to either make a podcast or a movie speaking about relationships. 


What did your group decide to do and why?


-My group made a podcast, because we felt that it would be better to record our voices than make a video. 


What did you learn from doing this project?  


I think that I learned more vocab words. There were only a few words that I knew before this, and now I feel that I learned a few more. I also think I learned a little more about the use of subjunctives. 


How do you feel about your final product?


I like our final product. I think that putting the script together wasn't too bad. We were able to come up with an idea pretty quickly, so putting the script together wasn't all that bad. And, we were able to effectively record the podcast. 


If you could do your project all over again, what would you do differently/the same?


I think if we could do it all over again, I would want to probably record again, and maybe do a video instead of a radio show.

What was the assignment?  What did your group decide to do and why?

For the project, we had to use what we knew about the past perfect tense and the use of ser and estar in order to create a podcast or a video involving relationships. For our group, we've decided to do a little parody of The Bachelorette because it would allow us to describe ourselves using ser and estar, as well as letting use the past perfect tense.

What did you learn from doing this project? 

I learned how to use ser and estar better in conversation. I even learned that I was using ser wrong a lot in the past, so it helped me fix that. I also grew a bit more comfortable speaking in Spanish for extended lengths of time, even if it was all scripted. I felt more natural, basically.

How do you feel about your final product?

Given my initial feelings about parodying a show I've never nor will ever watch, I think I did well, but I think we could've done better. For instance, instead of having a video recording of us actually having a conversation, we just taped us pretending to talk, and then put a separate audio recording of us actually talking over it. Stuff like that is always obvious to see, and I think we could've done an actual recording if we had enough time and practice.

If you could do your project all over again, what would you do differently/the same?

I think I'd sharpen the dialogue so that it sounded more natural and flowing, as well as give a bit more emotion behind my character. Since the final recordings took place right before it was due, I sort of rushed through it.

The Assignment was too create a presentation on a problem someone has about love. Such as a radio, a video etc.

What did your group decide to do and why?


We decided to do a radio show. We thought that it would be more entertaining for people to hear. 


What did you learn from doing this project? 

I learned how to work with others in a project, communicate, and also more spanish experience. Hearing how you pronounce words and what you can improve on.

 

How do you feel about your final product?



I feel we put a lot of effort in to the project. There are somethings that could be improved on, but they are minor. Over all we did a great job as a group.

If you could do your project all over again, what would you do differently/the same?


We would make the radio show pop out more. More interesting, effects, also maybe a movie next time. So it could be more visual to people.

For this unit, we were focusing on love, advice, and subjunctive. Our vocabulary words were mainly about relationships. Our task for this assignment was to create a show or a podcast based on relationships problems. We decided to make a podcast/radio show. Only because none of us really wanted to be recorded on screen. LOL. Our podcast is specifically a radio show and has all the requirements that a radio show needs. I learned how to conjugate in my present tense and I learned how to give advice in spanish. Ay dios mío! I feel great about my final project. I put in a lot of effort and work. And our script took us a lot of time. If I could do this project again, I would maybe add more script. And jokes?

What did your group decide to do and why?

-My group made a podcast because we wanted to get involved with the script rather than focusing on making a video or anything.

What did you learn from doing this project?  


-I learned more about the subjunctive, which I was still having trouble with. I also realized that I used ser and estar without even thinking. 

How do you feel about your final product?


-I'm really happy with the final product. We worked well as a group and it showed since we are done a day early.

If you could do your project all over again, what would you do differently/the same?



-I guess I would do a video. It might have been fun to make it as if they were guests in the studio.

Mis criticas de las películas en Español 5

Todas de las películas tienen un tema subrayado, todas se tratan de problemas familiares y mujeres fuertes. Por ejemplo en la película Yo soy la Juani, una chica, Juani, fue la protagonista. Ella tiene una madre que no se defendía contra su esposo. El padre de Juani era un borracho. Por su pobresa, toda la familia está descontenta con su situación. Aunque Juani tuvo que luchar con problemas emocionales, ella era todavía capaz de soñar con convertirse en una actriz. Luego ella se fue a Madrid para perseguir su sueño, haciendo de ella una mujer fuerte.

 

La segunda película se llama Todo sobre mi madre, fue una película sobre un hombre joven que fue golpeado por un coche y matado enfrente de su madre. Él trataba de conseguir un autógrafo de uno de sus actrices favoritas. Pero fue matado por su coche antes de que él pudiera obtenerlo. Por eso, su madre decidió perseguir la actriz a la locación de su próxima interpretación. Ellas se convertieron amigas y su madre le dice la historia de su hijo que fue asesinado. Ella es un caractér fuerte porque ella dicidió seguir la actriz, ganar su confianza, y obtener un autógrafo para su hijo.

 

La tercera película fue Volver, una película estraña pero muy bien hecha. Vemos la película desde la perspectiva de una feminista. Esta película en particular enseña muchas caratéres femininas fuertes. Todas las caratéres tienen un problema familiar que intentan esconder de las otras protagonistas.

Amor Tragico
This project asked students to create a television or radio show that addresses some sort of relationship problem. Our group decided to create a radio show because we thought that this approach would be different from what some of the other groups were doing and we thought it would be a more enjoyable approach. From this project I learned how to incorporate the verbs ser and estar with an already established understanding various tenses, and a new set of vocabulary to speak to a topic that can be serious or funny. I think our final product came out pretty well. It is light and quite funny. If I could do this project over, I would add more conversation between the charaters experiencing relationship problems. I think that part could have been expanded a bit more.

Hola mi nombre es kenayah cerdan y asistir ciencia líder acdamey. mi escuela está en el centro de la ciudad. Estoy en el grado 9 y me encanta la escuela que voy a porque lo extraordinario de la escuela no mucha gente puede entrar en mi escuela. pero de todos modos sólo hay 500 estudiantes que van a mi colegio y sí mi id de escuela poco pero estamos como una gran familia feliz y peralte realmente decir otra escuela. y puedo decir que me encanta mi escuela


Me gusta mucho inglés, tengo el sr. kay clase el lunes, miércoles, jueves y viernes. el sr. kay es muy divertido y smart. en su clase i aprender a usar el derecho grammer y cómo escribir 
mi storys en mi nota libro! Sin embargo creo que el sr., kay es un agradable y dulce y corazón bondadoso persona.también en inglés necesitamos un libro y nuestro diario y necesitamos nuestras computadoras por lo que podemos conseguir aunque nuestra clase y cómo nos ayuda mejor


en clase de español aprendemos cómo utilizar palabras y frase juntos. realmente de amor a español me gusta ms manuel clase porque en español. Utilizamos cosas diferentes y métodos que nos ayuda a obtener una comprensión bastante, y sin embargo creo que ms manuel es muy bonita e inteligente. Ella tiene ojos marrones y cabello muy largo. También tengo sus clases el lunes, Martes Jueves y el viernes. en su clase, necesitamos nuestro equipo, un bolígrafo y un pices de papel.

Business Unit

Candace and I chose to do a power point explaining the views about the essential question of “What causes systematic and individual change”. We used Obama's speech for a systematic change and George Bush's crack addition. We used a power point because it is simpler and it still gets our point across. 

“What causes systematic and individual change”?

-      What causes systematic and individual change is depending on how passionate someone is about a certain topic or idea. Systematic change comes from a group that can agree on something that will either be better or worsen the community. Individual change comes from a person that is willing to take that extra step to change something about them that will help their community.

 What questions do you still have about “Business in America”?

 - How can the value of money in America be compared throughout history?

 - During different time period, how have the lower class adapted to different changes?

CHANGE THE WORLD
I am an upcoming freshman from Science Leadership Academy. As I have been growing up the one dream that has refused to vanish from my mind is the dream of going into space. Metro Magazine and their contest is the perfect opportunity to achieve my vision. I have constantly wanted to be a part of the space industry. If I did happen to win the contest and go into space, not only would it be a great achievement for myself, but it would also be a great benefit for Science Leadership Academy. This journey is not just about one person and winning a single contest, this contest is the first of its kind and this will affect the course of the history of humankinds journey into space. It will also benefit all the kids in my school who will be able to have a vicarious experience right along with me. NASA has not sent many people into space lately and the torch has been passed down to organizations such as Metro Magazine to keep the dream of space exploration alive; I want to be a part of that
