My Home Network

There are 13 devices that are hooked up to my home network. These are our tv, x-box 1, wii, ipad, our cell phones, printer and laptops. I learned a lot about home networks through this project, like how information gets to and from your phone and computers. It surprised me to find out how your’e able to block content you can see on your computer. If I was to tell someone what they needed to know about having an ISP, it would be to do your research first to make sure you know what your’e doing. Also don’t be afraid to ask for help.

E1 U1 Diamond, William, Octavieon, Ivan

Our first video is all about the alphabet and learning it. Diamond is the teacher while William, me and Octavieon are the students learning the alphabet in spanish. As Diamond tells us its time to learn the alphabet we each say a different letter. At the end we all come together to end it and Diamond says the final letter.

  • explain your L.A.N. Local Area Network - all the devices on your internet connection. I have an xfinity modem, and it has a built in router. The router has two different networks. All of my family's streaming/gaming devices go onto one network, and all of our computers/phones go onto another network.

  • reflect on what you learned about networks, did you have an OMG moment that you learned something new and interesting? I've had a lot of previous knowledge on setting up a L.A.N. before so I knew how my network was set up. Something I found interesting was that wifi connection falls, and I had never known this before this assignment.

  • what would you tell other people that they need to know about having an ISP/Home network? I would tell other people to set their network up so that the connections work for everyone. What I mean by this is if you have multiple networks on your modem you should use them. This will increase efficiency if set up right.

Lucichart/Internet

The WWW or World Wide Web is connected to my Modem/Router. My internet service provider is Verizon. All the devices in my house are, an Xbox one, two iphones, and five Android phones. Both my parents own a Galaxy S4 and Note 4. While my older brother and my younger brother own different android phones. I would tell other people many things they need to know about their home Network/ISP. One thing is if there are more than 5 electronics using one network it will go slower than a turtle.

  • what would you tell other people that they need to know about having an ISP/Home network?

  1. On my internet I have a lot of devices connected. I have a tv, Xbox 1, tablet and 5 cellphones connected. In addition, there are 3 laptops connected.

  2. After the lessons, I did not learn anything super crazy. I am a very tech-lovey person so these things are natural to me.

  3. I would tell people that they should watch who connects to their network, because it will be slow with too many people on your network. Also, to always make sure you pay your bills or it will cut off on you.

E1 U1 (Samera, Justin, Mia, Simone)

1: Watch how we show knowledge about the Alfabeto and the use of tú vs. Ud. when our soldier Mia gets an annual eye exam from Doctor Simone and Nurse Samera!

2: Mother and daughter, Mia and Samera, decide to order food at a counter. They use courtesy phrases and numeros when ordering their delicious spanish food.

3: Simone is late for the bus after school! Watch how she hurriedly asks the time from her two peers, Justin and Samera. Good Luck Simone…

4: Simone asks when Justin’s and Mia’s birthdays are, but watch to find out when Simone’s birthday is...a special birthday song might be sung!

Network work

So, my internet company's xfinity and it's connected to my laptop, video game system, my tablet and my phone. I learned that internet is important in our life without it a lot of things would be difficult. I would tell them that they need a cable.

(I worked a lot)

Reed Home Network

My internet service provider is Xfinity and it covers most of my house. The devices that use this network is my computer, my aunt's computer, my phone, my other aunt's phone, my aunt's boyfriend's phone, my mom's phone, my cousin's phone, and my PS4. An OMG moment I have from learning about networks is that the creator said that the internet was free. I found this as an OMG moment because we still pay to have internet. I would tell people that they need to know what and how it connects them to their internet, so if something gets messed up, they know what needs to be fixed.

My Home Network

My home network is provided by Xfinity Comcast. That means that the wire that brings the internet into my house is a Coax cable. There are ten devices that are connected to my Wifi. There is a HP Laptop, two Iphone 5’s, a Chromebook, a HP Printer, an Iphone 6s, an Iphone 6+ , an Ipad Mini , a Samsung Tab 4, and a Peavey Portable Sound System. I learned that only certain ISP’s provide the service through either satellite, or a cable. Other than that, I did not learn anything else about networks. Something that other people would need to know about having a ISP network is that you control what is allowed on the network but the Internet Provider and Government can see what you do on your device so, be careful.

My Home Network

  1. My Internet is ran by my loax. comcast cable. All the connections on the modem router are: my phone, little brothers phone, moms phone, my laptop, dads phone, ps4, mac, dads laptop, tv in living room, tv in parents room, and the tv downstairs.

  2. I didnẗ really learn anything new. This is something I already knew.

  3. I would tell them that they would be shocked of how many devices are connected to the modem router.

My Home Network

This is a map of my home network for 9th Grade Technology. I showed this diagram to Miss Hull, and she asked me the names of the wires. This moment has brought light to an issue I had never known existed: I have not been properly introduced to the wires that make up my home network! All this time, and I had never made even a slight effort to start a conversation. ut how does one begin a conversation with a pile of wires coiled in the corner beside the printer and router? "Why hello, wire. I do not believe we have been acquainted yet. What is your name? How would you prefer I address you? How was your day?" Anyhow, a lesson learned is a lesson learned. Now if you'll excuse me, I must go have a talk with the cable wire back at home.
