2nd day back at school
School. Work. "wanna get lunch?" Loneliness....
she told me " you stink " im sixteen , so im offended
i went home, with the same intentions everyday.
knock on the door hard, yell through the mailbox to yell at my brother to let me in, run upstairs, hang my coat in my closet , start up the stupid laptop with the bad battery, and finally TAKE OFF MY TIGHT JEANS.
now on a side note, taking off my jeans is one of my favorite things to do in the world. i literally feel free. i bet both my legs and thighs inhale and exhale as soon as i unbutton. from 7:30 am to 4:15 i suffocated my legs, and thats exactly how i feel .
after doing the routine, i decided to jump in my moms bed. she makes everything difficult so the reason why i was in her bed in the first place was because she was making me call La salle University.
so im on the phone and the classical music is playing for what feels like 85 minutes , and im remixing it with "buy you a drank" by t-pain , meanwhile my mother is flipping through the channels , debating on whether or not she should watch what she calls " gillys"
(gilmore girls) what a stupid $%@! name right?
THEN FINALLY some lady from the admissions office answers the phone.
and my mom burst out with " you stink patricia"
im like " huh " ,
then i switch to a more curious face and she repeats herself...."you stink little girl,you smell like the outside"
since i was little ive been trying to figure out what the "outside" smells like but i end up pushing my thoughts aside and i get defensive and , say " well you smell like the inside"
she goes on to say i smell like old people, like i haven't washed in a few weeks
now
for one: she didnt have to bring old people into this because now she offending somebodies grandmom or grandpop that we dont even know.
for two: this is my mother, im 16, and this is usually the talk little 12 year old boys have with there mothers after a sweaty game of some sport
i dont immediately jump in the shower at all, i let whatever smell i was walking around with linger in her room, and seep in her bed since she had so much against the "outside smell"
after a few hours , maybe 2 hours . i jump in the shower and im scrubbin my black knees ALL CRAZAAAAYYY because prom daisy duke season is approaching
im just squirting and squirting this pink stuff onto my washcloth . scrubbing and slathering.....i take a second to look at the bottle because it smells so good , and
it reads
"suave strawberry shampoo" -_-
now i dont know whether to be mad at the fact that i just washed up in shampoo or to be happy that smell like i just used my mothers favorite shampoo to wash my gluteus maximus:)

Machuca
La pelicula se trata los ninos en una escuela en Chile. Los ninos ricos va a escuela con los ninos pobres y no llevarse bien, pero Machuca y Gonzalo. Estan Amigos, pero los familias son muy diferentes. Uno es el izquierdista y el otra es momios.
2) Los dos protagonistas son Machuca y su amigo, Gonzalo. ¿Cómo te relacionas
Son amigos. Gonzalo no atacó Machuca cuando los ninos pobres se atace. El tambien ayuda machuca durante el quiz y pasar el tiempo con esta familia.
3) Compara tu vida con la de Machuca. Nombre dos similitudes y dos diferencias.
Las vidas son muy diferentes. La familia de gonzalo es la clase alto y son enojado que los curas son comunismos. La familia de machuca es la clase obrera y los gustan el comunismo.
4) ¿Qué observas sobre Chile en la época (the era) cuando toma lugar esta película?
El país es dividen del comunismo.

Reflection on this Benchmark:
At first looking at this benchmark outline, I was going to do Hitler as my topic, but I couldn't really get the theme out when doing and researching him. I went to go talk to miss Laufenberg and she gave me this topic because in class when we spoke of the Atomic Bomb I was really interested in it.
After deciding on The Atomic Bomb I looked at the choices I had to do this project, when I seen live performance immediately wanted to do that. But when I thought about it i realized that it would be really hard to reenact The Atomic Bomb because I really can't make a bomb fall. After I realized that I looked at the other choices and saw website. I started to try and see what I could do if i made the website before I picked it. After realizing that I could do that I picked it. Since I wasn't going to perform my NHD project, instead of making a whole website I choose to do an iWeb for my benchmark.
The most trouble this project gave me was finding primary sources, secondary was easy. Finding websites and videos taken from the exact same time the Atomic Bomb was really hard to find. I went to all different websites looking to see if the information was taken at the same time as the topic. After I found a couple I went looking for pictures and videos. The pictures were really hard to find because before I used them I had to make sure they were from the same day. I was thinking just because they were black and white that it was from the same date. But it wasn't. Looking for primary sources had to be the hardest part of this project.
The things that went well were the information. Putting the information together was the easiest part of this project. Usually putting information into a project is the hardest part. But there was so much information that I was so easy. All I really had to do was but it all together and write the report.
If I did this project over I would take my time picking the topic and see if the information would go good with the theme before deciding the topic. Not taking my time blew so much time again that I could have used to help me look for primary sources. Because of the picking the topic in such a hurry, I lost valuable time doing this benchmark. I feel like if I can do this project over, take back the time that I lost, my project would me 10 times better. Not that it isn't good, but the primary sources would be.
After doing this project I learned so much information about the Atomic Bomb -Moral Debate. I learned why it happened, what it effected, and what was the damage that it caused. Doing this project I am really proud of my outcome project because I really think I took enough time to research about the topic and I gathered a bunch of information on this topic.

La película se trata de dos niños, uno de clase alta y uno de clase baja durante el golpe de estado en Chile. Los niños aprenden de los clases diferentes y su opinión del comunismo. Los dos niños son amigos cuando sus clases sociales son enemigos.
2) Los dos protagonistas son Machuca y su amigo, Gonzalo. ¿Cómo te relacionas con ellos? ¿Con quién tienes más en común? Explica (explain).
Soy en el medio de los dos en la clase media, que no tiene un parte en este película.
No tengo problemas en mi familia como Machuca, pero no soy pobre como Gonzalo.
No soporto el Comunismo entonces estoy mas en común con Machuca.
3) Compara tu vida con la de Machuca. Nombre dos similitudes y dos diferencias.
Dos similitudes que tengo con Machuca son que tengo dinero y que mi familia no soporte el Comunismo. Dos diferencias son que no tengo problemas en mi familia y mi escuela no es privada.
4) ¿Qué observas sobre Chile en la época (the era) cuando toma lugar esta película?
Estos eventos paso en los años 1970. Había mucha tensión entre los clases altas y obreras. Había muchas opiniones diferentes del Comunismo.
5) ¿Qué crees que va a pasar en el siguiente segmento que veremos en la próxima clase?
Creo que la Militaría va a tomar poder. Creo que Chile va a convertir en Comunismo. Machuca y su familia van a ser atacados porque son ricos.

La película se trata de un niño que se llama Machuca de baja clase el y sus hermanas van a una escuela alta clase y como no son de la alta clase los demás lo bullan. Un niño (Gonzalo) quien es de la clase alta, pero esta bullado también ayuda a Machuca y se convierten en nuevos amigos.
2) Los dos protagonistas son Machuca y su amigo, Gonzalo. ¿Cómo te relacionas con ellos? ¿Con quién tienes más en común? Explica (explain).
Ellos se convierten en nuevos amigos y su relación es buena. Yo no tengo tanto en común con ningunos, por que yo soy de la clase mediana.

El es da la clase baja y yo soy de la clase mediana
El estuvo bullado y yo nunca a estuvo estado bullada.

not all being beautiful. You see these ads are ugly, what I see in me and think of WE
does not equal what these ads portray.
These degrading ads have received debatable responses like
"Oh it's not that bad" or
"Where is your sense of humor?"
Well I say there is a line between humorous and disrespectful.
These ads have crossed the line and have been throughout history for a long time.
How dare you be so mean
and have the audacity to degrade a queen.

I choose this topic because I see degrading advertisements on television, on paper, billboards, etc. and take offense to the brutal material coming from the product. I felt that poetry has a way with words that could get inside people and "grind them up" so the feeling that the marketers should've had when they were brainstorming about advertisements and came up with offensive materials such a the ads above. Out of the sample I collected in my research, these are the subdued versions out of all of the example ads I found. The others were entirely too graphic to use for a project for school. I didn't have much trouble with this project . I actually enjoyed it; my heart was in it. The fact that I found so many ads helped with this project. I wish I could've written a poem for each one I found. If I had more time I would do so. I learned how cold hearted some people are with this project and that a "sense of humor" can be rather offensive to a certain group of people.
