Later is better.

For some people conversations just never  end.

D: Okay. Enjoy yourself.

K: I'll try to.

D: Good. :). Bye.

K: Don't say Bye.

D: Why?

K: It's final.

D: I'm sorry. Didn't mean for it to be final in any way. Talk to you later?

K: Yes, later.

I guess you can say, we are two of those people.

Yay, Insomnia!

According to Web MD Insomnia is: a sleep disorder that is characterized by difficulty falling and/or staying asleep. Which basically mean you can't sleep at night. It's especially terrible when you are expected to wake up before the sun and stay awake for the next 6 hours. The thing is though you are tired, VERY tired, but for some reason you just can't sleep. Rolling around, watching terrible late night comics, and scrolling through weird blogs doesn't make the disorder any more bearable. Looking at the clock, the time moves so fast! 1 a.m., 2a.m., 3 a.m., 4a.m. OH My God! I only get 2 hours of sleep. Insomnia basically sucks. I know you're probably wondering why I know so much about this lovely blessing...well because it's 1 a.m. and sleep seems to be no where in site for me. I don't even remember how this all started, I just remember not sleeping. Most of the time I sit up mad because I know how tired I'll be in class, and how I hope that all my classes consist of me being talked at so that I can catch up on a few minutes to hold me over till math. My boyfriend calls me weird, and even compared me to a zombie tonight, but he doesn't understand and many people don't. Sleep is like a privilege and if I get it I am HAPPY!

One night, though, I got completely fed up! "That's it! I'm going to sleep, whether I like it or not?" (question mark because that even confused me). So I shut everything down. No T.V., no computer, no phone, nothing! I was ready to fall asleep. So I laid there. My attempt started at around 11, and I was very optimistic, "I'm about to be OUT!" As I laid in the darkness, and the time past, I got nothing. I stared at the ceiling for 36 minutes, and thought "I gotta clean my fan." I stared at my hand and realized that they were shaped weird. This went on for the next 3 hours and 15 minutes. Not even boring observations could put me to sleep. Then before I knew it, the sun started rising and my alarm went off. Not only had I not gotten any sleep but I was bored, I guess I was better off with terrible comics, and weird blogs after all.

Hotel, Motel, Nevermind Im Staying In...

Everyone can relate to me, when I say we are all coming to that age. The one where we can say “I’m legal”, or to sass a teacher when they tell you “tilt your screens” and you mumble “I’m grown”, low enough for them to not catch your exact words but at a volume to make your peers chuckle.

For some accepting you’re aging is the challenge and taking on new responsibilities. For others planning the celebration would be one of the most challenging things. Well for me it is. Even though we consider ourselves to be “legal” or “grown” we still have those parents who cant let go, or at least loosen their grip. My friends and I decided to throw a hotel party together to all celebrate our 18th year.

“Who are we inviting?” I asked eagerly.

“I don’t know everybody.”  My friend responded quickly.

“ C’mon were gonna get kicked out.” I said resisting her idea.

“It’s a risk you have to take.”

“ Wait how ya’ll paying for it and what ya’ll telling ya’ll parents?” A random voice added in.

“Look man we will worry about that when the time comes.” I said in a jokingly manner.

We then spoke realistically about our plans and decided to propose our ideas to our parents. As I was relaxed my phone rang, I received a text saying “What’s your mom’s number?”

I eavesdropped on the conversation between my mother and my friend’s mother. I could only make out a few words but I was sure when I heard “They think they’re grown.” Once you here that, its downhill from there.  I crept back into my room.

Soon after a brief conversation, the next thing I knew, the hotel party was on hold. I received a call from mom saying “I have plans this weekend I don’t plan on chaperoning.”

With confusion I asked “what?”

I slowly came to the realization that my plans were falling apart. I asked her “how can you just volunteer yourself to attend my party mom I’m grown you don’t have to watch me or my friends?”  And she said “how old are you?”

Proudly I danced a little and I responded with “ I’m 18!”

She said “Right and until your 21 and can answer me without dancing I’m responsible for you. I will sleep on it.”

In A World...

Where your finger tips and keys meet in harmony. A boy in School wrote a story that would change the WORLD as we know it! However; little did he know, he would occasionally glance at his TV and the Facebook as well as his Twitter feed.
The problem was that even before this story started, he spent almost 1 hour on trying to figure out what he wants to change in this world. So he sat and thought and thought and thou...Then it hit him! He was just too tired to write and decided he would leave his document with (In A World...) and leave his readers in somewhat of a suspense to see what happens next...

Tech Support Evett Hawks Ver.

I was floating. I don't know how but i was. there was darkness all around me and i felt myself drifting the land of dreams. then a noise jerked me from my journey
'buzz,buzz,buzz'
My eyes snapped open to meet with darkness and the only thing visible were the red digits that seem to float from the clock that read 4:30 am . My eyes squinted with hatred for who would wake me at such at time. 'buzz, buzz, buzz' the noise kept going. i looked to see my phone moving from it's own vibration i swiped it from nightstand and looked at the number. It was anthony calling. My mind even in it's half awake started going through all the things that could have happen for him to call me at this time. in concern i  opened the phone and replied.
" Hello ? "
"Teeeecchhh support" the voice sounded slurred and drunk
" What? "I replied in confusion
" Tech support " he yelled again in the slurred way
"You called me...at 4:30 in the morning for tech support!"
I heard laughter in the back that i recognize " Zach I'm going to kill you!" there was rustling i guessed that the phone was moving and Zach's voice much closer now yelled back
" Wait why are you going to kill me!"
"Because you let him call me at 4 in the morning!
" i can't control who he calls "
"yes you can!"

this argument went on for about 2 minutes until Zach apologized and said goodnight. i closed my phone and put my head on the pillow that smiled back at me. i closed my eyes but i could'nt drift back to my journey on the road to dreams. I sat up and opened my laptop at least i could surf around until my eyes got tired. a bubbled showed up on my screen from ichat it made it's pop noise timidly and i looked to see who messaged me 'Tech Support' it read. Even though i could not hear him. his voice rang loud and obnoxiously in my head. I typed back frustrated
" Anthony shut up!" In response he spammed with the same two words.I blocked him for the night then closed my laptop with a sigh. I laid my head back down on the pillow and a few minutes i finally went back to sleep with the hatred of the words" Tech support"

Writing a story is complex

My fingers slid across my bangs pushing them behind my ear. I knew they wouldn’t stay there but fall back towards my face. Still I wanted them out the way to think. Lightly my laptop made a buzzing sound from where it sat in my lap. Something about this all was not working. My mind had no thoughts what’s so ever passing through it. It was just kind of blank, almost like the little person inside of there just walked out on me when need.  I leaned backwards against my headboard closing my eyes. Without thinking I sad loudly to myself. “UGH I hate this! Why cant a write?! It’s just a story”

Just then my mother looked into my room looking curiously and said “Hey there need help with something.” I tilted my head and opened one of my eyes. “Just writing a story mom” On her face there was a look that consisted of a mixture of please tell me my own kid did not forget how to write, interest like a little kid and why didn’t I tell her.  “Heyyyyy think I can maybe help,” she said like a kid, which couldn’t help but make you smile. “No thanks mom I can get this sooner or later….or really later..” I said smiling a bit. She pouted and said awed before shuffling out of my room. Of course I knew it was jokingly. She always used her kid act at times for fun.

Once she left I leaned back on my bed again trying to think of an idea. I tried everything I could to get some sort of creativity going. Shuffled through iTunes, imed friends and played a puzzle game. Still I had nothing that inspired me to write. Mentally I had given up and that was the moment it hit me. I shot right up and began writing. Grinning at my laptop and said to myself thinking I was a genius “A story about a story…how perfect...” Before I allowed to let myself let out my genius life I continued to type on happily.

THAT date

I think we all remember THAT date, one awkward one that we wish we could forget, but doesn't seem to leave.  This was one of those dates.  In his defense, perhaps he saw it as a mere friendly outing, where chivalrous gestures are not expected.  I guess I missed that memo.

He had invited me to the movies, nothing too special or significant.  It was an action movie. Batman? Perhaps.  As my dad drove me to the theater, I remember the butterflies that come at the beginning of any relationship.  What can I say?  I liked the guy.  My dad passed me a 20 as I opened the door.  Though I didn't expect to use it, I stuffed it in my pocket.

I met him in the lobby.  We saw a few friends and waved.  He let me order my ticket first.

"Regular admission for the 3:50 show, please."

"Make that two," he said over my head.

I smiled.  He was going to pay for me.

"You want to split it? 10,10?"

My face must've said it all.  The ticket clerk interrupted my utter surprise.

"You're not paying for her? You have to."

"Next time, dude."

I faked a smile and passed him my money.  We weren't going on another date; that much was clear.

Riding the Subway

I hate riding the subway. The noise of steel and static-ey intercom voices gives me a nauseating headache. So it was a normal train ride. Babies crying, loud cell phone conversations and the stench of sweat and corn-chips. I was sitting in the single seat, reading the Unlitter Us ads when the train stopped at Hunting Park Station. A flood of people got on, including two staggering men who were carrying duffle bags and a bottle of OE. Seconds after the door closes these two fools start arguing about killing each other. One sips on the forty to long and the other gets mad and starts yelling about a gun in his duffle bag. Now by this time people get up and start running. I didn't waste anytime to follow. I not usually a follower but when people start running I run too. So I ran.

Story # 1

This might come off as a journal but this story was about my awesome day. This morning was amazing because I was watching a movie named julia and julia. Then of course it was off to school and that was fun as well, mainly because of all of the reminiscing we did about the super bowl party we had at Brias. It was so nice having everybody there. What I really enjoyed the most today was our chocolate class. I love chocolate so it was nice being able to do many things with it. With all of the treats that I made, I gave them to my girls from girl scouts. After school was nice because I learned how to get to my church from the 11 trolley, then I realized I needed to be on the 13, but my friend walked me so it was ok. Overall it was a relaxing day and I am happy the new semester started.

Smiles, Smiles Everywhere

It had been a very long day full of the usual stressing school activities. My mood had been unusual and my friends were having bad day and because my Beth and I are so close the mood was affecting me tremendously and I held on to false smile that would reassure her. I went through the motions of my usual day and breathed a sigh of relief when I came home. A hot shower and lotion should have made the world a much better place, but it didn't. And then I came downstairs and found my family talking and my baby sister, Marie, laughing hysterically. She ran from her chair yelling, "Hi! Hi! Hi," and smacked right into my leg where she hugged me and ran away. I sat down with my lotion and rubbed some into my bruised leg, Marie asked if she could have some and then she rubbed lotion into her legs. And my mother and I cracked up laughing at the crazy baby. Her toenails are currently blue and her fingernails are black and after this new development in her appearance she ran to my mother saying, "Mommy! Look, my fingers pretty," in a garbled version of English. And my bad mood was lifted away and replaced with an honest-to-goodness smile.

Story 1: Happy Birthday Fail

Most 9 year olds, spend their birthday, playing and having fun. Taking in presents and eating lots of cake. They spend the whole day with everyone they love showering them with love...my 9th birthday...wasn't like that.

For my 9th birthday, I chose to have a skating party. I invited all the kids from my class, as well as my family. Everyone was having fun, skating and taking. After skating around for 100 laps, I wanted to see how many of my relatives could skate. I got my dad, aunts, and cousins to join in on the fun, but mom wouldn't. So, I got a pair of skates with her, and took her out on the rink myself. At first, she was shakey but soon she was able to move on her own. Happy that she was going, I took my mother's hand and skated with her, but then things took a turn. Before I knew it, I heard "Kimberlea! Let go!", and everything go black,

I found myself, laying on the hard wood of the skating rink with a huge pressure on top of me. I didn't know what happened, until I heard myself say "mom, could you please get off of me??"
My mother had fallen down, pulled me down with her, and managed to fall on me.

That was a birthday to remember.

Yesternight: My 1st storytelling Blog Post

"Que Cera, Cera"

Well, since this is my first blog post, this may come off as more of a journal entry than a story so just bear with me.  yesterday was February 7th, a.k.a, Superbowl Sunday. Of corse there were parties to attend all over the city but i decided to go to one with my friends, the one being hosted by the girl ive had a crush on for a long time, but i'll get back to that.  Yesterday was not a day completely full of fun that i wish it had been.  A couple of days ago a dear friend of mine had fallen into a coma, and had not woken up since, and yesterday, he went completely brain dead and they ended up pulling the plug on him.  It was a heart breaking moment to have another friend snatched away from me so quickly.  I stayed i

Degrees of an earthquake from 1 to 10

So as I was sitting in Mr. Kay's freshman drama class Mr. Kay is teaching his students about interacting with their environment. He's throwing out these scenarios for them to act out like "Your walking barefoot across broken glass." or "Your walking in waist high jello". And then he decides to make up this scenario on the spot about degrees of an earthquake and what it feels like on a 1 to 10 scale. These poor kids would fall straight to the floor at like 5. And then 10 comes along and I turn my head for a split second and I hear them all fall to the floor. I wasn't sure if I should be worried or if it was o.k to laugh. Luckily they were all o.k and it was safe to laugh.

Dog Walk

After getting dress I grabbed his leash and headed to the door. I hooked the leash to my dogs collar and was on my way out the door. The ground was covered with dirty muddy snow and ice. I hate walking my dog in these conditions because my dog is white and he tends to get dirty very quickly.
As I walked up the street, I notice the pee spots were still visible from my last walk with my dog. I thought they would had disappeared but I was wrong. That morning I decided to walk my dog on a different street. A street I normally don't walk down. Before I walked 10 steps on the block of Homer St, I notice I mountain of dog poop on the middle of the side walk. In my mind, I wonder what kind of person would allow their dog to do such a thing and not pick it up. I step into the street to ignore the pile of poop and as I tried to step back on the side walk, the patch of grass surrounded by snow also contained a huge pile of poop.
I just decided to just walk in the street and ignore the sidewalk. As I walked in the street, I couldn't believe what had happen. I stepped in dog poop.

Typical Parents

Today, as we were finishing dinner, the phone rang and my mom went to answer it. Randomly, my dad turns to me and with anger in his voice says, "I really hate those pants. I just want to cut them up and shred them and burn them." It took me a second to realize what he was talking about, so I just asked, "Why?" He said, "They make her look like an old woman!" I laughed because I realized that he was talking about my mom's pants. My mom overheard me laughing and immediately said, "Are you making fun of me!?" My dad assured her we weren't. Whoever was on the phone was still on hold and she kept accusing us saying, "You were making fun of me!" And my dad kept repeating, "No, we were not making fun of you." I walked away from the table while they were still arguing.
