lo diferente que es aqui y alla?
Dime algo sobre su país? heres
¿como es la musica en la Puerto Rico ?

How do you anticipate your partner will respond to your questions?
I have no idea towards these questions, because a lot of people I have been asking, reject me and curse at me. However when I find the right person, I think they are going to help me understand and tell me what I need to know. Also conversation is going to go smooth and friendly as I hope.
4.What are you looking forward to about this conversation?
I am really looking forward to a nice and respectful intelligent person that would be able to help me and learn what I have in plan for them.
5.What are you nervous about?
I actually kind of nervous about what they would say to me, since I have asked couple of other people and they reject and behave rude towards me.

Post Conversation

Who did I speak with and why did I choose that person?

Negative Space Drawings

A negative space is not an actual picture. Negative spaces tell whats outside of an image. I found the negative space in my cut out by first cutting out all the pieces then placing and flipping them on construction paper. In the stool drawing, I found the stool drawing was harder then it looks. I found the negative space in the stool by trying not to draw the actual stools. This part of drawing the stool was hard. This helps an artist to see in a negative space because it tells them what outside parts of the picture, make the image. This does enhance drawings because it gets people's creative side out of them.

Negative Space

A. What is negative space (explain this concept to a fourth grader that has never heard of it)

Negative space, in art, is the space around and between the subject(s) of an image.

B. Explain how you found negative space in 1. your cut out?, 2. in your stool drawing?

I found negative space in the cut out by simply cutting out all the gray areas and paste it on one half of the page the the white area on the other side of the page which showed symmetry. The green represented the negative space.

C. Why does it help an artist to see in negative space?

A good artist realizes that the space surrounding an object is just as important as that object itself. Negative space helps define a subject, and brings balance to a composition.

D. Does seeing in negative space enhance drawings, why or why not

Negative space enhances drawings because you focus on the negative space instead of the actual object which might be harder and take more time.

A. Negative space is the empty space/shapes AROUND and/or INSIDE the object itself. It is NOT the object's space, it is what is NOT visible. For example, when drawing negative space of a chair, you don't color in the chair, you would color the four spaces at the bottom of the chair that you can put your hand through. Coloring in these shapes makes your object appears.

B. I found negative space in 1. my cut out by first identifying the orange paper as my entire bird. Then I took my green paper as my negative space. I collided my orange bird with negative space green and placed it over my bird.

C. Negative space helps artists' create shape and it helps composition and add more emphasis to the subject.

D. Yes because it makes the actual subject stand out even more than it would if you would have drawn it itself. With negative space, the drawing is clearly visable with nothing else and it helps the artist focus on the actual subject, or what's important in the drawing.

Negative Space

Negative space is the space around and between the objects.

In my drawing, I found my negative space by taking a look around the object and picture how it would look like with the negative space cut out. Therefore, I use my imagination to figure my negative space for both cut and stool drawing.

It helps an artist to see negative space because it creates a contrast of the image for the artist.

Yes, negative space enhance drawing because it gave me a good look of what the image is suppose to look like.

Negative Space and Clouds Feat Green and Orange

Negative space is the space in between objects. It is the shapes in the background.

The year was 1972. I was a ripe young 6 years old, and ignorant to the world around me. I was highly educated from a young age, and had matured beyond my age level. It was a past time of mine to simply stroll through the streets of the Manhattan Village in which I presided. I would examine the sky, I would take in the street lamps, I was fascinated by the glow of the city, and imagined a future as great as the one I dreamt. There was a bench on the pathway that I enjoyed resting my fine buttocks on after a brisk walk through the village. As I sat there one day, legs crossed, I observed my surroundings and taking in the beauty of the oasis I had found. I stared up at one of the street lamps, noticing the space behind the bulb. I looked closer, and identified something incredible. I like to call it, NEGATIVE SPACE.

Negative space enhances drawings, and makes it easier for an artist to see the actual object, and really internalize it. I found the negative space by looking past the still life, and looking through the vail that is POSITIVE SPACE.

Negative Space

Negative space is basically the shape of the object. The object is not seen, meaning that only the space around the object is seen. It forms the object because of the negative space around the object. I found the negative space in my cut-outs by doing an outline of it. It is quite complicated to explain the process of this. But I did a trace of one of the object to another paper, so I can find the negative space. Drawing the negative space of the stool is basically drawing the shape of the stool. The space around the stool are the negative space.

This also helps an artist to see the negative space when drawing, so that the artist can see the exact shape of the object that the artist is drawing. It can also enhances the drawing because you have the exact shape of the object already through negative space.

What is negative space?
Negative Space is a drawing where you have to draw what you see the outline of the object not the whole thing then using your observations. Color or shade in the blank space or the negative space.

Explain how you found negative space in 1. your cut out?, 2. in your stool drawing?

How I found negative space in my cut out is that by looking at the example on the wall and using that drawing I pointed out my negative space. Then on my stool drawing when I finished my outline I saw these space that I knew on the top of my head was negative space

2.     In my drawing, I found negative space by looking in between the legs of the stool. In my cutout I found negative space by cutting out the shape, then cutting around the shape.

3.     It helps an artist to see in negative space, because it gives them an even better understanding of what they’re drawing, and helps them to visualize the end product.

4.     I think that seeing in negative space does enhance drawing, because it gives the artist a better understanding of what they’re doing.

Negative Space- Tang, Aaron

A. What is negative space (explain this concept to a fourth grader that has never heard of it)?

Negative space is images that have no lines connecting. The picture shows that the outer piece of the drawing is going to be shaded which is the negative space. For example, there are white and blue and the white part of the drawing is positive space. The black is negative because of the background. When the image had no lines, it will call it a silhouette.

B. Explain how you found negative space in 1. Your cut out? 2. In your stool drawing?

The cut out as shown below which is the owl. To find out the negative space it, will be the dark blue one. I noticed that the dark blue one is the background of the negative space. The light blue one shows the shape of the owl, and the two colors will show a picture of my image. For my second step of drawing, I drew stools by looking at the view. I drew all the stools with lines connected, but at the end I erase the lines so the picture can be a one unite. I shaded the remainder to make it negative space. The white part is showing the positive space of the image.

C. Why does it help an artist to see in negative space?

One reason why artist can see in the negative space is giving a visual of the image. The positive and the negative let people identify the picture. Without the details of the drawing, artists can see what it is.

D. Does seeing in negative space enhance drawings, why or why not

I think it is because people don't have to draw every little detail. With using the technique of negative space and positive space, it will show a better design. Also, people can visualize the image a lot faster.

Negative Space

A. What is negative space?
Negative space is essentially a reverse silhouette, where every part of an object is left white (or blank) and the surrounding space is coloured a different colour.

B. Explain how you found negative space in 1. your cut out?, 2. in your stool drawing?

I found the negative space in my cutout by first tracing over the positive portions of the stencil. By cutting the shape of the positive stencil out of a designated half-sheet of construction paper I created the negative and positive needed for my project.

In my stool drawing I first had to draw the outline of the shape. Once it was fairly accurate I created the negative space by shading around the figure.

C. Why does it help an artist to see in negative space?

It helps to see in negative space because by doing so a person can be more detailed and accurate in forming outlines. Also, it teaches balance of light and dark in a drawing.

D. Does seeing in negative space enhance drawings, why or why not?

Seeing in negative space enhances drawings because in using negative space, a person creates areas of rest for the eyes (that's the negative area) and interesting tension (positive).

Learning about Argentina :D

  • Who did I speak with and why did I choose that person?

I spoke with a guy named Francisco who is from/lives in Argentina in a city called Buenos aires. I met this person through livemocha.com. I technically did not choose this person, but I am glad I did because they taught me a lot about Argentina.
  • What did you learn about them? What did you learn from them?

The person I talked to was very nice and they answered all my questions I needed to know about they're country and they also told me about themselves as well. They told me how the streets aren't really that safe and there's a lot of crimes/thefts. As for the education, neighboring countries come to learn in their country. They have a lot of public schools as well. The country of where he is from is where the "Tango" (dance)came from. This guy is also in a rock band  (He's the guitarist) and him and his band play at clubs and events. Overall, this was a nice person to chat with.
  • How did this interaction help you move towards achieving your personal goal?

It help me learn a lot about the country then what I would learn in a text book or a website on the internet.
  • What specifically did you do well according to your goals/expectations?

I kept the conversation flowing and we had a good conversation overall.
  • What specifically do you need to improve on? (Quote specific things you said or did and what you would have done or said if you could do it again)rces to Find Conve

I really need to work on my conjugations. There are a lot of un-conjugated words because I couldn't think on the spot of what they could be.

  • What did you learn about them? What did you learn from them?

I learned some things from him. More about him though rather than any spanish.
  • How did this interaction help you move towards achieving your personal goal?

This interaction helped me because it was a great starting place for me.
  • What specifically did you do well according to your goals/expectations?

I tried to talk more about him instead of myself.
  • What specifically do you need to improve on? (Quote specific things you said or did and what you would have done or said if you could do it again)

I need to talk more about myself and stop asking the other person questions.
